Xiaomi will officially introduce the MIUI 12.5 globally on February 8, 2021, alongside the Mi 11. Ahead of the global unveiling, the company is currently recruiting global beta testers. The application is open to about 24 Xiaomi phones, but excludes the popular POCO F1. That has once again raised concerns on the MIUI 12.5 eligibility status of the device. However, one of Xiaomi’s executives has given an update concerning the device, but that’s not convincing.
According to Alvin Tse, when quizzed if the POCO F1 will get MIUI 12.5 update said, “there should be future updates but not sure on 12.5 yet.” The reply of the executive means that Xiaomi isn’t sure about the update for the device yet. They’re probably testing the phone to see if it’ll be compatible with the update, and we hope to see if POCO F1 makes it to eligible phones on February 8.
Meanwhile, the POCO F1 has been around for more than two years now. It’s mostly two years of support for Xiaomi flagship phones, and that brings about doubt on POCO F1 MIUI 12.5 eligibility status. However, since POCO now claims to be an independent brand, they might consider rolling out the MIUI 12.5 update to the device that brought them to the spotlight.
Also, the MIUI 12.5 update from the feature it presents is more of an improvement to the current version. It focuses on improving the performance and stability of the MIUI 12 update. If that’s the case, the POCO F1 MIUI 12.5 update will be happening. The company will try to fix all the bugs reported after the MIUI 12 update that has persisted till now.
That said, we will be on the lookout for additional information. We hope to find out more after the February 8 unveiling. And to keep track of the update, you should follow our tracker page for all MIUI 12.5 related news.
