The POCO F2 Pro was always going to receive the stable MIUI 12.5 update. We anticipated the update after the Chinese release for the Redmi K30 Pro a couple of weeks ago. Of course, the latter is only a rebadged version of the POCO F2 Pro but exclusive to the Chinese market. Hence, it makes sense that the POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update starts rolling out already, given it has been weeks since the update arrived in China.
According to reports, Xiaomi has released the much-anticipated POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 update. The update has a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJKEUXM – and comes in a 979MB package. From the build number, the European models of the unit are the ones getting the update. At the time of this report, only a select few have received the update for preview. Hence, it will take a while before the public rollout commences.
Unfortunately, the update brings basic features of the new MIUI OS, which are essentially an optimization. It failed to add features like MIUI+, enhanced privacy protection, new system sounds, and others arriving for the Chinese branch of MIUI. That again proves that Chinese ROM is more feature-rich when compared to the global ROM, and we can only hope for change.
Meanwhile, the POCO F2 Pro MIUI 12.5 has improved stability and optimized performance. And with improvements made to the system, your device becomes faster, smoother, and lighter after the upgrade. The update also added the option to uninstall system apps, but for some reason, you can’t use that feature at the moment. The third-party launcher issue is still there while the notification bug persists. Hopefully, a new update that’ll address these issues will be rolled out soon.
