Google is working on private space where you can hide apps

Pixel phones do not wait for a new Android OS upgrade to get new features. Google brings new features to its phones with the Quarterly Platform Releases, which they are testing a new build, expected to arrive in March. The December Future Drop is still on course to roll out next month, and we will see if the new Private Space will be part of it.

Private Space on Android

Google released the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 build to eligible users days ago. The new update brought new features exclusive to beta testers, with the public expected to release them in March. Interestingly, a new feature called Creative Private Space was spotted in the latest release.

Of course, the feature is still under development and might not work even if you have it on your device. However, @mishaalrahman has shared how it will work when it becomes available. Like Xiaomi Second Space, Private Space will allow you to create a different profile. There, you can hide apps and other things, and from the screenshot above, you can set a different security unlock for the private space.

When is Private Space coming to Android?

Since Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 brought the new feature, we expect a public release with the March Feature Drop. It will be the first Android 14 Quarterly Platform Release in 2024, which would be a good time to introduce such a feature.
