Qualcomm has officially released the successor of Snapdragon 660, Snapdragon 665. The new chip, unlike the predecessor, is made on the 11nm LLP process, expected to bring about improved battery performance.
The Snapdragon 665 Soc implements 4 Kryo 260 cores, with the frequency clocking at 2GHz while the 4 lower clusters still clocks at 1.8GHz. A notable improvement, comes in the graphics section with the introduction of all new Adreno 610 GPU and Hexagon 686 DSP.
The Qualcomm Spectra 165 ISP will be behind the camera performance. It will support 48MP single setup, dual 16MP camera, and triple arrangements. Interesting is slow-mo video capture up to 720p@240fps and 1080p@120fps.
Snapdragon X12 LTE modem engineered to support advanced connectivity with a peak download speed of 600Mbps and 150Mbps download speed. For a quicker refill of your battery, most if not all Snapdragon 665 phones will come with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The fast charge tech is expected to charge a 4000mAh battery under 120 minutes

Xiaomi beats other smartphone companies to debut a device running Snapdragon 665, and is also the first on our list of Snapdragon 665 phones. The device sports a 6.088-inch HD+ AMOLED display and underneath is seventh gen in-display fingerprint reader.
The camera arrangement is similar to Redmi 7 Pro, talking about the triple arrangement. It consists of 48MP Sony IMX568 f/1.79 aperture, 8MP ultrawide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the selfie notch is a 32MP sensor from Samsung, basically a 12MP with 1.6um pixel for better low-light images and AI beautiful mode.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 comes with Dual 4G Volte, supports Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. The battery capacity 3940mAh and supports 10W fast charging via USB.C port. Out-of-the-box, you get Android 9 based on MIUI 10, while the device is available in White Lover, Blue Planet, and Dark Prince Color options

The Xiaomi Mi A3 is a renamed Mi CC9e with all the specs on board, but on a different level when it comes to the pricing. The latter starts from $181, while the former will set you back $279 for the 4/64GB variant.
Another difference is that Xiaomi MI A3 runs pure Android Pie out of the box compared to the MIUI 10 skin that’s present in the CC9e. However, both device features 6.08-inch AMOLED display and run Snapdragon 665 Octa-core processor.
The camera is of three lenses; 48MP main sensor with EIS, 8MP ultrawide wide-angle lens and 2MP depth sensor. It has a massive 32MP selfie snapper secured in the top-notch for decent shots. You also get a 4000mAh battery, which supports 10W charging via USB-C port.
Realme 5

The Realme 5 is the fourth device on our list of Snapdragon 665 phones, with a Quad camera and has a 12MP wide-angle lens as the main sensor. The other three are 8MP ultrawide angle lens, 2MP dedicated macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor, while on the front notch is a 13MP selfie shooter.
Meanwhile, the screen is 6.5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1600p resolution and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+. The device runs Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with multiple memory configurations; 3/32GB, 4/64GB, 4/128GB. There’s also a provision for memory expansion up to 256GB via MicroSD card.
The battery capacity is quite big and is a 5000mAh that supports 10W Quick Charge, unfortunately via Micro USB port. However, the 3.5mm headphone jack is there but unlike the Mi CC9E, Realme 5 lacks NFC while both run Android 9 outside the box.
Our list of Snapdragon 665 phones is still very much empty at the moment because is only a couple of days since Qualcomm officially announced the mid-range SoC. However, we expect devices with the Octa-core chip to start debuting in the coming weeks and till they’re officially announced that when our list will be updated.
