Random reboot on POCO F3 after upgrading to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition

The global version of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition started seeding earlier than expected. It was the POCO F3 and Mi 11X that started getting the update a few days ago. Xiaomi promises to improve the device’s performance. The company also claims the update will address some issues facing MIUI. Going by the features the build came along with, it focuses on improving RAM usage, processing speed, and reducing power consumption. Apparently, it’s supposed to address the overheating issues experienced by random users. However, there has been a case of the random reboot on POCO F3 phones, which a moderator on the POCO community forum tagged a heating issue.

Random reboot on POCO F3

We have seen two iterations of MIUI while waiting for MIUI 13, expected to arrive towards the end of the year. However, with the constant bug complaints after each MIUI update, we might see another MIUI version based on MIUI 12. Xiaomi had promised to fix most of the issues affecting its phones with the improved version of MIUI 12.5, but that seems not to be the case at the moment. Perhaps, the company hurriedly rolled out the update, as we weren’t expecting it until next month. But then, before updates are rolled out, it has to pass an internal test. However, some bugs can escape internal testing, which is the reason for Mi Pilots. They are probably the few people with a random reboot on POCO F3.

And while the random reboot on POCO F3 has been tagged a heating issue, it’s not. According to users, the phone isn’t actually heating up and still reboots. Also, the Auto brightness that he said should be disabled isn’t enabled for some users facing this issue. However, a detailed analysis carried out shows ‘framework’ is causing the random reboot. Perhaps, Xiaomi service framework works or Google’s? Does it mean that Xiaomi rolled out Chinese ROM to global users? But whatever the problem is, we hope to find out in the coming days as the issue has been reported to R&D staff.

That said, you should avoid the latest POCO F3 update until the root cause of the random reboot is detected. However, not every user is experiencing the problem, while some have experienced it once since upgrading. And if you’re already on the latest version, you might need to turn off the memory extension feature.

I am also facing the same problem. I updated to miui 12.5 enhanced version a week ago and the bootloop occured 3 days ago, my phone rebooted 5 times that day and when I searched in reddit for answers someone had mentioned that turning off location can prevent it, so I did that. Weirdly it worked. But today again, my phone is going into bootloop but only when I leave the device locked or unattended. The device is not hot at all and is working perfectly but a few seconds after I press the lock button, it goes into boot loop.

I’m sorry about your experience. Hopefully, a new build starts seeding on September 15 as the company has promised.
