Xiaomi made some changes with its current iteration of MIUI – MIUI 13. Before the latest MIUI Android skin, Xiaomi usually upgrades its phone to a new Android OS without relating it to a particular version of MIUI. However, it’s obvious MIUI 13 is based on Android 12, as most devices that have received the update got a new Android OS. Hence, with the Redmi 10X 5G, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi K30 Ultra, and Redmi Note 9 5G Android 12 update entering internal testing, the device will probably receive MIUI 13 in the coming weeks.
According to the latest closed beta update release Note, ” Due to the major version upgrade of Android, Redmi 10X 5G, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi K30 Ultra and Redmi Note 9, 5G will be suspended from the internal beta release from March 7, 2022. Thank you for your understanding.” Of course, the suspension starts today. Unfortunately, we don’t know when it will be restarted, but hopefully, it will be soon.
As usual, the Redmi 10X 5G, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi K30 Ultra, and Redmi Note 9 5G Android 12 update will first arrive in China. Perhaps, only the Redmi Note 9T users will be happy with this news globallly as they’ll soon get another Android OS upgrade. As for the other phones, they don’t have a global presence, with Xiaomi selling them exclusively in the Chinese market.
Meanwhile, it’s unclear whether the phones will receive a new Android OS upgrade with MIUI 13 on the first release. The reason is that Xiaomi has announced the rollout for the Redmi 10X series phone, and with the Android 12 internal testing expected to take a few weeks, we doubt that would be possible. Nevertheless, we will be on the lookout for new information to update this space.
