Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G stops over at Geekbench ahead of official unveiling

The Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi recently launched the Redmi 12 4G featuring the Helio G88 SOC. However, rumors suggest that a 5G version of the Redmi 12 is also in the works. Although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the Redmi 12 5G, a smartphone with the model code 23076RN4BI, believed to be the Redmi 12 5G, has appeared on the Geekbench benchmark platform, revealing some of its key specifications.

Further details on the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G

The Xiaomi 23076RN4BI runs on Android 13 and is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. It is equipped with 8GB of RAM, but additional memory configurations have not been disclosed yet. Furthermore, the phone has been listed in the BIS database, indicating its impending launch in India. Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Redmi 12 in India on August 1, but it remains unclear whether it will be the 4G variant or the 5G model.

While the teasers released by the Chinese company suggest that the Redmi 12 4G and 5G versions may have similar appearances and a 50MP primary camera, it is uncertain if the 5G model will only differ in terms of the chipset used or if there will be other variations between the two models.

Additionally, there is speculation that the Redmi 12 5G might be a variant of the Redmi Note 12R, which is essentially a Redmi 12 4G equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, a 5MP front camera, and no ultrawide camera. Further details and official announcements from Xiaomi are awaited to confirm the exact specifications and features of the Redmi 12 5G.
