[Released globally] Redmi 9A Android 11 build is available but installable via TWRP recovery

The Redmi 9A is among the few Xiaomi phones waiting for the Android 11 update. It started picking up stable MIUI 12.5 a couple of days ago in China. Surprisingly, the update didn’t bring Android 11, but it seems that because the build isn’t ready yet. Going by the recent report, the Redmi 9A Android 11 build is currently in the internal testing stage. That’s a bit of good news, but it means we are weeks away before it will arrive for stable ROM users.

For starters, the internal test is the first stage for a major build, which after, will be pushed to closed beta testers. The next step is pushing the update to stable beta testers for final preview. After that, the public will start getting the build. Of course, that takes weeks/months, depending, meaning the Redmi 9A Android 11 update isn’t coming anything soon. However, there’s a bit of good news for those that want to try out the build. The internal beta Android 11 build for the device has been leaked. It’s installable via TWRP recovery.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to install the build via Recovery. Besides, we won’t recommend installation, especially if the device is your daily driver. The fact that it’s an internal build means it’s not stable enough. Hence, you will experience bugs and glitches after upgrading. Also, the Chinese channel is the one that has the ROM.
