The Redmi K20 Pro in India is the latest to start receiving the new MIUI OS as the company set sight on MIUI 13 unveiling. If the words on the street are correct, the first MIUI 13 beta update has already rolled out in China, and we anticipate the official unveiling in August. Xiaomi is expected to focus on security in the coming build and improving the stability of the system. Although the Redmi K20 Pro MIUI update in India has addressed some bugs, there are still few ones that need attention.
Issues like third-party launcher compatibility and ugly square chat bubbles. Keyboard overlapping with floating windows in some cases, battery drain (partially), screen touch issues, and lags. Hopefully, a new update will address that in the future as Xiaomi has acknowledged those and is currently working on a fix.
Nevertheless, the Redmi K20 Pro MIUI 12.5 update in India brought some fascinating features. According to feedback, there has been an introduction of a voice changer, and it works across all apps. A new wallpaper named “Snowy Peaks” is part of the package and some new animations. Surprisingly, the battery life has improved as a user after installing the update gets an 8% drop in 40 minutes. There’s a new feature that allows switching between Audio output in lock screen. However, data usage is still not there, and hopefully, it will come soon.
The update also bumps the Android security patch level to June 20221 to increase system security and stability, while pushing Android OS to 11.
