Oftentimes Xiaomi updates its list of devices that have reached End of Support. Any phone that appears on the list stops receiving official updates from the company, and it seems the time has come for Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T, among others.
Xiaomi pledges to support its phones for three years, during which it will roll out two versions of Android OS and security patch builds quarterly. Hence, phones that debuted between May and June 2019 have reached EOS, which is the case of the Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T.
The device arrived in May 2019, running Android Pie on top of MIUI 10. It received Android 10 with MIUI 11, while Android 11 arrived with MIUI 12 last year. Unfortunately, the device didn’t upgrade to MIUI 12.5, and with the recent reports, that won’t be happening.
Also, the Redmi Note 7S, Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Xiaomi Mi Pad 4, Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus, Xiaomi Mi Play, and Xiaomi Mi 9SE have reached the End of Support. These phones will not get official MIUI or Android upgrades moving forward, but you can turn to custom recovery ROMs.
