Redmi K30 5G debuts in China with Sony IMX 686 64MP snapper
Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi, officially debut it’s high–end mid-range device in China. The Redmi K30 is the first phone to use Sony’s IMX 686 sensor while also debuting the newly released Snapdragon 765G Octa-Core chip.
The Redmi K30 5G has a 6.67-inch LCD with 1800 x 2400 resolution and a screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It’s nearly bezel-less with a punch hole for the selfie snapper. On the right frame is the volume rocker and power button, which also serve as a fingerprint scanner.
At the back now, you get four vertically arrange camera lens. The primary lens uses Sony 64MP IMX 686 sensor, combined with 8MP 120° FOV ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. While on the front punch hole is dual 20MP selfie snapper, paired with 2MP lens for portraits.
Powering the Redmi K30 5G is Snapdragon 765G, equipped with a copper tube for liquid cooling. It’s also coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The device is the first Redmi device to run Android 10 on top MIUI 11 out-of-the-box.
Power will be delivered through a 4,500mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging. The device is available in four colors- Blue, Purple, Red, and white.
Meanwhile, the Redmi K30 has a 4G variant, which in comes in the same design. There are a few downgrades though. First, the macro camera is a 2MP lens while the phone supports 27W Quick Charge instead.
The device lacks the dual-frequency GPS, features 5.0 Bluetooth, and will be sold in just three colors- Blue, Purple, and Red.
Price and Availability
The Redmi K30 4G will go on sale from December 12 in China. It will start from CNY 1,599 ($228) while the 5G model will start from CNY 1,999 ($284). And starting from January next year, you will be able to purchase the 5G variant.
