Xiaomi, unlike other OEMs, rarely releases a roadmap for major Android OS upgrades. While they do for their in-house MIUI Android skin, we have to rely on the company’s update policy for phones eligible for that next Android OS upgrade. The company is making changes to its policy and will start pushing three Android OS updates starting with the Mi 11T, 11T Pro, and 11 Lite NE 5G. It’s unclear if other phones will receive three Android OS updates, but we hope to find out soon. Meanwhile, the Redmi K30 Pro / POCO F2 and Redmi K30S Ultra / Mi 10T Pro Android 12 beta are expected this month.
According to a recent report, Xiaomi will suspend the release of the internal beta builds for the Redmi K30 Pro and Redmi K30S Ultra from November 8. The suspension is due to a major Android upgrade, which of course, is Android 12. Also, the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10 Ultra internal testing will be suspended during this time because of a new version of Android. That confirms the eligibility of these phones for the next iteration of Android. We expect the stable Android 12 to start seeding towards the end of the year.
And with Redmi K30 Pro and Redmi 30S Ultra preparing for Android 12, it makes the POCO F2 Pro and Mi 10T Pro users optimistic, as well. The duo is an international model of the K30 Pro and 30S Ultra. Nevertheless, it will still take some weeks before the build is stable enough for stable ROM users. That said, we will be following the development to know when the update starts seeding to the closed beta group.
Meanwhile, for those running the Xiaomi.eu ROM, it will be easier to test the Redmi K30 Pro / POCO F2 Pro and Redmi K30S Ultra/ Mi 10T Pro Android 12 beta when it’s arrives for closed beta channel.
