Hence, if you’re looking for a budget phone with a flagship performance, the Redmi K40 should be a better option unless you prefer a camera-centric device with premium performance.

Redmi K40 Pro Plus display
The Redmi K40 Pro Plus has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display supplied by Samsung. It has got everything right which is why DisplayMate awarded it A+ mark. The 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling are the highest so far, and with that, you are sure of maximum display performance. It also supports HDR10+, meaning you can stream video in High definition. For protection, the device uses Gorilla Glass 5, and it’s IP53 rated, which means beta dust and splash resistance.
Redmi K40 Pro Plus performance
Unlike the Redmi K40, the Pro Plus has the Snapdragon 888 SoC under the helm. The SoC has its prime core clocked at 2.84GHz. It’s paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage for faster read and writes. That also means seamless multitasking and fluid gaming. Coupled with the improved Adreno 660 GPU, graphics have improved, and in turn, improves your experience. The device runs Android 11 outside-of-the-box on top of MIUI 12, which makes it eligible for Android 12 and 13. But first, it has to receive the MIUI 12.5 – the company’s latest MIUI Android skin.
Redmi K40 Pro Plus camera
The Redmi K40 Pro Plus has better camera hardware than the others. It features a primary 108MP shooter and can shoot 8K @30fps and 4k @60/30fps. The camera gets an 8MP ultrawide angle-lens and 5MP macro shooter, while at the front is a 20MP shooter. Other features of the camera are LED-flash, panorama, HDR, and AI beauty enhancements.
Redmi K40 Pro Plus battery and security
Behind the power, performance is a beefy 4520mAh battery. It’s the same across the board, and it charges at 33W. And what many people see as awkward – side-mounted fingerprint scanners. The Redmi K40 Pro Plus has an AMOLED display but surprisingly doesn’t feature an under-display scanner. Maybe there’s something Xiaomi will tell us later. However, it still delivers top-notch security and will unlock your device in a record time.

The Redmi K40 Pro Plus price starts at CYN 3,700 (~$575). It comes in only one configuration and will be offered in White, Aurora, and Black. Pre-order starts on March 4 as we wait for global availability.
