Redmi K40 Pro Specs
Xiaomi officially announced the Redmi K40 series a couple of days ago. surprisingly, three phones instead of the two made their debut. They include Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro Plus. Of course, the Pro Plus model is the most sophisticated of the trio, but the Redmi K40 Pro specs show it’s not below expectation. Meanwhile, the design is the same across the board, including display, battery, charging speed, and software. The difference between them is on the camera hardware, with the Redmi K40 Pro Plus featuring a powerful sensor while the K40 Pro is equipped with a 64MP sensor.

Redmi K40 Pro display
The device sports a 6.67-inch super AMOLED display supplied by Samsung. It refreshes at 120Hz with a touch sampling rate capped at 360Hz and a resolution of 1080 x 240p. Xiaomi offers maximum protection with a Gorilla Glass 5, and with the IP53 rating, the device is highly resistant to dust and splash. Interestingly, it supports HDR10+, meaning it will deliver accurate detail even under the light with a peak brightness of 1300nits.
Redmi K40 Pro performance
Under the helm is Qualcomm’s most sophisticated chipset yet – the Snapdragon 888. It has its prime core clocked at 2.84Hz and coupled with the 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, you’re sure of peak performance. The Adreno 660 GPU, together with the display, will deliver the best visuals during gaming. Outside-of-the-box, the device runs Android 11 on top of MIUI 12, which makes it eligible for the MIUI 12.5 and Android 12.
Redmi K40 Pro camera
The Redmi K40 Pro comes short in the camera department. It features a primary 64MP snapper with a 1/1.7″ sensor size and makes use of 4-in-1 pixel binning to bring the pixel size to 1.6µm. The sensor is capable of 8K@ 30fps and 4K@30/60fps and features gyro-EIS and HDR10+. Paired with the camera are an 8MP ultrawide angle-lens and 5MP macro shooter, while the selfie gets a 20MP sensor.
Redmi K40 battery and security
The device draws power from a 4520mAh battery with a 33W fast charging solution. It takes 52 minutes for a full charge which would last for days on normal usage. For security, the device uses a side-mounted fingerprint. The scanner is fast and would unlock your device in seconds.
Redmi K40 Pro price and Availability
The Redmi K40 Pro price starts at $435 for the 6/128GB model, while the 8GB RAM with the same storage sets you back $464. For the premium version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, you would spend $510. All the models are available for pre-order and are offered in Black, White, and Aurora colors.
