In a few days, Google will officially release the stable Android 12. It will first seed to Pixel owners before making its way to other OEMs’ smartphones. Ahead of that, Xiaomi has already set plans to be among the few phone makers to push stable Android 12 to its eligible phones. The company has already started rolling out the new Android OS based on its Android skin to closed beta testers in China ahead of the stable release. And going by a recent report, the Redmi Note 10 5G/POCO M3 Pro 5G, Mi 10 Lite, Mi 10i / Mi 10T Lite Android 12 beta testing has started.

Xiaomi, for months, has been testing the Android 12 beta builds internally. The company, after Google announced the build has reached platform stability, pushed the update to closed beta testers. Interestingly, there haven’t been any issues, and that has seen more phones enter the internal testing phase for the update.

That was expected, given that Google is expected to release the stable version of Android 12 in the coming days. On October 4, to be precise. With that in mind, Xiaomi has opened internal testing for the aforementioned device. Depending on how smooth the testing goes, closed beta testers of the phones are likely to start pushing the update soon.

For starters, internal testing is the first phase for any major update. The second stage is close beta tests, where registered users preview the update before its release to Mi Pilots. Once the update has been confirmed stable enough, that’s when the public will start receiving it. Looking at that sequence, there’s still a long way before the update reaches the public.

Meanwhile, it’s not only the Redmi Note 10 5G / POCO M3 Pro, Mi 10 Lite, Mi 10i / Mi 10T Lite Android 12 beta testing that has started. The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G / POCO X3 GT is also participating in the internal test. Hopefully, these phones will receive the stable Android 12 based MIUI build soon.
