After months of anticipation, Xiaomi is now pushing the Redmi Note 7 Pro MIUI 12.5 update in India. The build arrived months ago in China and has taken till now to arrive in other regions. However, it’s still a stable beta build meaning only Mi Pilots members are getting the update for preview. It will last for a couple of days, and if in the end, there are no bugs, the update will be released to everyone.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro was released on March 29, running Android 9 on top of MIUI 10. It has since received Android 10, while security patch updates are delivered quarterly. Going by the company’s update policy, the device is eligible for updates for another five months. However, we doubt it will receive the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 as Xiaomi seems to exclude the device. We hope to find out in the coming days or weeks, but first, you should download the Redmi Note 7 Pro MIUI 12.5 update.
The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QFHINXM and weighs 641MB. It comes with features of MIUI 12.5, which are more of an improvement. Hence, you might not notice many changes, but Xiaomi claims gesture response is now instant. The update also reduces power consumption and background memory usage. Meanwhile, some app animation has been removed to improve device performance, while the notification and control panel have been revamped.
Aside from the new introductions, the build has bumped the Android security patch level to August 2021 to increase system security and stability. That updated for sure, but it means the build has been in development for some months now. We expect a new update in the coming weeks with a current patch. Meanwhile, the update is safe, and you can download it when prompted.
