Xiaomi is yet to complete the Redmi Note 8 Pro Android 10 rollout, and the company is about to trigger the last phase of the deployment. For months now, Note 8 Pro has been getting the Android 10 update, but a particular ROM version is left out. Users with the “PGGIDXM” ROM version are yet to get the update, and from the latest report, that’s about to change.
According to Alvis Tse, General Manager of Xiaomi Indonesia, and head of POCO Global, the company will start the Android 10 rollout of Redmi Note 8 Pro this month. He said in response to a user’s query, who asked;
” When my Redmi Note 8 Pro can get a system update? Still stuck on Android 9, MIUI Global 11.0.2 (PGGIDXM)…”
The exact words of the General Manager were;
” We are hopefully rolling out Android Q for Note 8 Pro this month”
Since the rollout has been on for months now, we’re expecting the final and last phase. It will be aimed specifically at users with the PGGIDXM ROM version. However, if you’re using another ROM variant, then follow this link and download the correct ROM for your device and flash.
Meanwhile, the GM also gave a hint on when to expect Android 10 on Note 8. According to him, the device may start getting the update from July, which is in line with our previous report.
The update is said to arrive with MIUI 12, and considering that the stable version will start arriving in June, then the July time frame is most likely. Unfortunately, the Note 8 isn’t among those device testing MIUI 12, so you have to wait till the OTA release.
Meanwhile, there’s a Stable MIUI 12 ROM designed by Xiaomi.EU. You can download to enjoy the features of the new Xiaomi custom ROM. Follow this link to download the update and flash.
