We know that Xiaomi is now working on the next iteration of its MIUI Android skin, but what we don’t know is when the rollout will start. Xiaomi doesn’t usually comment on these things unless the launch is near. Most times, we get to know that the launch of a new MIUI skin is close when the company stops the development of the current one. It was what happened before the MIUI 12 was officially released, which is still yet to make it to all eligible units. And while the rollout is still ongoing, there has been speculation about the possible release date of Xiaomi MIUI 13.
The next iteration of MIUI, which will be the 13TH generation, will focus on improving the animation, optimizing the super wallpaper, and also enhance notification management. Of course, other features are to be included, but the company is yet to say anything about that, and we might wait till next year to learn about all the possible MIUI 13 features.
Meanwhile, according to a super Moderator in the Mi community forum, the release date of Xiaomi MIUI 13 will be in Q2 2020. That’s a bold claim by the moderator, but most times, they get things wrong, especially ETAs, and hence, we are skeptical about this one.
Xiaomi presented the current MIUI version in April this year, and the next one might debut earlier. That could also mean the moderator’s release date of Xiaomi MIUI 13 might be correct, but we hope to hear from official Xiaomi. And while we wait for official confirmation, a possible list of Xiaomi phones to receive the MIUI 13 has been on speculation for some time now. We have covered that in a separate post, which you can access from here, and if your device isn’t on the list, there’s no need to panic. We’ll soon update the list to add more devices that are going to receive the MIUI 13 Android skin.
