Rumor: Xiaomi might present MIUI 13 in November

Xiaomi is currently focused on upgrading its eligible device to the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. The rollout is already in the second phase in China, while the global rollout is about concluding the first phase of deployment. It will probably take some time before Xiaomi finalizes the rollout, as it seems the build is for all phones with active support. However, the company didn’t abandon the MIUI 13, which according to a new report, might be presented in the coming weeks.

Present MIUI 13 in November

Xiaomi started the development of MIUI 13 immediately after MIUI 12 release. The latter revamped the system and made some visual changes, which left some frustrating bugs. To address these problems, Xiaomi has to release MIUI 12.5, and hopefully, they’ll address all the bugs with the Enhanced Edition. The update is currently seeding to eligible phones, and you can track the deployment on our tracker page.

The company is expected to present MIUI 13 after the Enhanced Edition. According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi Chief Executive Officer, the company will present its next iteration of MIUI towards the end. Of course, November will be considered, although we anticipate a December launch time. However, Xiaomi MIUI’s official Weibo account posted a teaser suggesting something happening in November.

The Xiaomi MIUI official handle on Weibo posted, “Let’s have a chat: what will you do to pass the time on your trip in November______.?” And while that could mean anything, folks at Xiaomiui suggest the Chinese OEM might present MIUI 13. We wouldn’t be surprised if that happens, as Xiaomi is known for surprises.

And if that’s the case, we expect to get more hints in the coming days. That could come from the closed beta release note, as usual. If you’re thinking, “but the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 is still rolling out.” That doesn’t stop Xiaomi from presenting MIUI 13, as they’ll need time on closed beta tests to sort out the build before public release. Nevertheless, it’s a rumor, and we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.
