The last we heard of a Galaxy Fan edition smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. The Galaxy S22 FE was only a story as it never happened – even after all the rumors. Well, rumors surfaced of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE but(again) it seems the fans’ hearts will be broken. The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE might not be happening.
Roland Quandt, a prolific (and generally trustworthy) leakster, has some terrible news for everyone who has been waiting for the S23 FE with bated breath. According to him, it doesn’t appear that there will be an S23 FE this year. Or, dare we say, any other year if this isn’t it.
In his words, “Sure doesn’t look like there’ll be an S23 FE this year.” We certainly cannot tell you exactly what is going on or what Samsung’s ambitions are. There have been contradictory rumors concerning the existence and launch (or lack thereof) of this gadget, therefore treat any such information with caution.
Quandt did not go into any detail, but it’s reasonable to assume that if such a device was to be released in the coming months, he would have had some information about it – after all, he’s a frequent source of leaks. This comment leads us to assume he hasn’t seen anything about the S23 FE yet, which might suggest it won’t exist at all.
Previous rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
According to earlier rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE might be taking up the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or the Plus variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Meanwhile, the fan edition of Galaxy smartphones used to be flagship-like with a bit of budget. However, the brand might have decided to drop the FE variant of these smartphones (S22 and S23) so users can focus on the midrange A-series if they’re looking for a few high features with low pricing.
