Samsung Galaxy S23 FE tipped to use Exynos chips only

Samsung released the Galaxy S23 series earlier this year, marking the company’s first flagship in years to forego Exynos CPUs in favor of Qualcomm Snapdragon on a worldwide scale. Nevertheless, the Galaxy S23 FE appears to do the reverse, employing Exynos in all regions, including the United States.

Galaxy S23 FE is a reality

The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are all built on a Samsung-exclusive version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Before, Samsung would only employ Snapdragon processors in a few countries, including Korea, the United States, and a few others. Elsewhere, such as in Europe, Samsung has often left its users with Exynos CPUs, which frequently result in a slew of issues with software errors, overheating, or worse.

Samsung is anticipated to remain with this Snapdragon-only strategy for the foreseeable future, although this will not be the case for other products. SamMobile says that the Galaxy S23 FE is, first and foremost, a reality.

The more cheap handset is reportedly planned for delivery in Q4 of this year, which puts it ahead of schedule compared to the previous “Fan Edition” release, the Galaxy S21 FE, which debuted in January 2022. (mere weeks before the Galaxy S22 series). This was reported before in February.

Nevertheless, Samsung appears to be intending to sell the Galaxy S23 FE only with an Exynos processor. This would be the Exynos 2200, which was utilized in select parts of the Galaxy S22 series and brought Samsung’s cooperation with AMD to the GPU. The chip was not warmly accepted, but it can surely perform the job.

With the firm having openly gone all-in on Qualcomm, using Exynos on a worldwide scale for the Galaxy S23 FE is a choice, but the decision to employ the processor in the US has even more of an impact.

As of now, the only “flagship-tier” smartphones offered in the United States using Exynos chips are from Google, as Tensor chips are mainly based on Exynos devices. The last time Samsung offered a flagship with Exynos was with the Galaxy S6 series, which chose the processors due to overheating difficulties with Qualcomm’s designs at the time.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S23 FE will also include a 50MP primary camera, a 4,500 mAh battery, and a basic model with 128GB of storage, with 256GB available as an extra upgrade.
