Generative AI wallpapers are coming to Samsung with One UI 6.1

Samsung is planning for the release of the Galaxy S24 series. The device will arrive in the coming weeks, and from the leaks so far, it will pack some fascinating AI features. Interestingly, the Generative AI wallpapers feature that first debuted with Pixel 8 will arrive with the Galaxy S24 series. It is supposedly a feature of One UI 6.1, meaning other Galaxy phones will receive it in the future.

Galaxy S24 series will debut One UI 6.1. The upcoming One UI 6 update has been tipped to bring AI features to Galaxy phones, and we can confirm the Generative AI wallpaper as one of them. According to the screenshots posted on X/Twitter by @BennettBuhner from One UI 6.1, it confirms the imminent arrival of AI wallpapers to Galaxy users.

The screenshot also confirms how the feature will work, which follows the same pattern as Google’s Generative AI wallpapers. Galaxy users can choose a general topic and set of options to create their wallpapers. From the image above, the topic chosen was “Bloom” and there are prompts saying “a hazy image of lavender plants on a backdrop of red space galaxy.” Interestingly, that is what you get on the Pixel, and the preview is the same.

It seems Google is sharing the feature with Samsung. If that is the case, it would be nice to see other phone makers work with them to enable the Generative AI Wallpapers on their Android phones. However, there are a few tweaks from Samsung, but you will not notice until you look closely. Instead of “Inspire Me” Samsung chooses “Surprise Me,” and the preview on Galaxy phones is compact while on Pixels, it is fullscreen.

Fortunately, the Galaxy S24 series will be debuting soon with One UI 6.1. We hope to learn about the feature and how it will work on Galaxy phones. You can follow our social media platforms to know when the Generative AI wallpaper feature becomes available for your Samsung phone.
