Samsung phones to receive OneUI 5.0 based on Android 13
Google has since started working on its next major Android OS update, with the tech company already pushing the Android 13 developer preview to eligible phones. The company will move to the beta phase around May, and that would see other OEMs join in the testing. Interestingly, OEMs like Xiaomi have started preparing for the adoption of the next Android OS, which is likely to be based on MIUI 14. Also, Samsung is getting ready and will release Android 13 with a stable OneUI 5.0.
Samsung will release the stable Android 13-based OneUI 5.0 late this year, perhaps after the beta phase, likely to start with the Galaxy S22 series phone. During the unveiling of the flagship phones, Samsung announced a change in its Android update policy, which would see flagship devices and phones in the Galaxy A series lineup receive four Android OS updates. Meanwhile, the company is still focused on the deployment of the Android 12-based OneUI 4.1 update to eligible phones. It’s still a long time before we know more about the upcoming OneUI 5.0.
