Search for a song on YouTube Music by humming or singing

Google continues to release new features to YouTube Music to improve user’s experience and navigation of the app. That was expected after the recent price hike, and with the new feature, it will be easy to find a song you can not remember the title but can sing or at least hum.

Meanwhile, it seems searching for a song on YouTube Music by humming or singing isn’t an entirely new feature. According to reports, Google released it for YouTube users last October, and it seems YouTube Music is now getting the sing to search or hum to search button.

YouTube users can use the button when they tap the search bar and click on the new ‘song’ tab. You can play, sing, or hum a song, and with the help of AI, Google will match the sound with the music you are searching for.

It is the same process for YouTube Music, where you click on the search icon and tap the dedicated search button close to the voice search icon. The feature works quite well, but it seems only iOS users are getting it now. We understand that not every iOS user has the feature, meaning Google might be rolling it out in batches. Perhaps, it might be a beta release, and hopefully, it will roll out to everyone soon.

While we wait for a wider rollout, you can use the voice search or Google Assistant to search for songs. Pixel users can use the Now Playing feature to search for music, but it’s not every song you can search using that feature.
