Today made it exactly two months since Xiaomi released the beta stable Android 11 update for the Mi 10 units in China. The update, being a beta build, only arrived for selected users for preview, and it seems the stable version is now ready as a new stable update starts rolling out for the models in China.
The stable Android 11 update for the Mi 10, of course, is arriving with MIUI 12 build. It has a version number, MIUI 12.2.2.0 RJBCNXM, and weighs in at a massive 3.0GB. Aside from introducing the latest Android operating system, it also bumps the security patch level to October 2020 to improve system security. The update also optimized the system performance while fixing some minor bugs.
Meanwhile, as usual with all OTA updates, it will take some time before it appears on all eligible devices. And now that developers have released the stable build, we expect other regions to start getting the update as well.
That said, if you’re running the global ROM on your Mi 10, you should exercise some patience as the update is probably not ready for public rollout. However, for those running the Chinese ROM, you can head over to Updater App and manually scan for the new update.
Also, we have a link under this post from where you can download the recovery ROM and use the recovery method to flash it on your device. That way, the Bootloader can remain locked.
Note: if you experience any issue like “sorry, flash to this stable version is not allowed” it means the ROM is still locked on Xiaomi’s server. You should give it some days and try again or wait for it to arrive via OTA.
