[Global ROM Availabile] Stable MIUI 12 update for Mi Mix 2S starts arriving

Xiaomi announced the Mi Mix 2S in 2018, running Android 8.1 Oreo based on MIUI 9.5. The device has since received two OS upgrades: Android 9 and 10, and having debuted under the Mi Mix series, its users were hoping for a third OS upgrade. Meanwhile, it has been said the device won’t be getting the Android 11, but as expected, the stable MIUI 12 update for Mi Mix 2s has now been released.

The update is based on Android 10. It’s arriving with a build number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QDGCNXM, and weighs in at 787MB. From the version number, the update is for the Chinese variant, which is always the case when a major update is released. However, the global users will start getting a notification for the Stable MIUI 12 update for Mi Mix 2S in the coming days.

Aside from the update arriving with all the features of MIUI 12, it also bumps the Android security patch level to improve device security while fixing bugs. And as a premium Xiaomi phone, running the same processor – Snapdragon 845 – with the Mi 8, we expect Super Wallpaper to have arrived with the build.

As usual, updates are released in batches and is not different this time. It will take some time before the update appears on all eligible Mi Mix 2S units. However, you can manually download the update by following the link below in this post. But note that the ROM is Chinese version and won’t work on Global ROM, only download if you’re running the Chinese ROM variant.
