Finally, Xiaomi has officially released a stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8. As expected, the update brings the much-anticipated Android 10 alongside all the features of the latest Xiaomi Android skin.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 users for a couple of months now have waited for the arrival of the MIUI 12 update, after it was confirmed that the update will come along with Android 10. The first ETA (July) as regards the arrival, was given by Alvin Tse, Xiaomi executive in Indonesia, but due to system compatibility issues, the update was delayed.
However, those units in China never stopped receiving the weekly MIUI 12 builds, which kept the hope alive for an imminent arrival for the stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8. And after months of not receiving the monthly security fix, hopes again were crushed a couple of days ago, when the device started receiving a stable MIUI 11-based August security patch.
But while the global, EEA and Indian users were receiving the MIUI 11-based update, the Chinese users didn’t report such, giving hope to the possible arrival of the MIUI 12 update in that Region. Typical of Xiaomi, they have now released a stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8, which comes along with Android 10 in China.
The update has a software designation, MIUI 12.0.2.0 QCOCNXM, and weighs in at 2.3GB. It comes with all the features of MIUI 12, and above all, a new Android operating system. Thus far, the devices in China are the ones receiving the update, which will start arriving on the global variant from next month.
