It’s been five months since Xiaomi officially unveiled the MIUI 12. Since then, the new Android skin has arrived on multiple phones including premium and mid-range, with the entry-level Redmi 9 now receiving the stable update as well. The Redmi 9 debuted a couple of months ago running a stable MIUI 11 based on Android 10. It was always going to receive the MIUI 12 update, and just after two months, the update is now available.
The stable MIUI 12 update for the Xiaomi Redmi 9 has a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCTINXM, and is based on Android 10. It’s currently arriving for limited users and will progressively appear on eligible units in the coming days.
However, you can manually scan for the update by heading over to System Updates, or follow the download link below this post. The update brings lots of amazing features and among them is DarK Mode 2.0, Unify Fonts, New camera Functions, Floating Windows, New UI, and System Animation. To activate the super wallpaper, you should follow this guide.
Aside from those MIUI 12 features, the update is coming along with an updated Android security patch, bug fixes, and system optimization. Unfortunately, only the Indian variant of the device is getting the update, but we expect other regions to start getting it as well in a few days.
