We’ve had a lot of amazing devices from the Big G recently. Ranging from the all-new Pixel Buds Pro to the budget Pixel 6a with sleek features to the all-new Google Pixel watch and then to the next generation of Pixel phones, the Pixel 7 series expected next year. While a few tech enthusiasts were disappointed by not having the Notepad this year, the Google Pixel Fold launch time frame has surfaced.
Earlier reports from Elec suggested that we might not see the Google Pixel Fold anytime soon, but new tips from John Prosser and Ross Young say something different. Elec had said the Pixel Notepad, that is, the Google Pixel Fold was swept under the carpet.
Following newer reports, Google has allegedly cancelled the former prototype with the codename “Passport” and a new foldable nicknamed “Pipit” has since come into the limelight. Young tweeted that “having heard from multiple supply chains, the Google Pixel Fold might be delayed till next spring”
Controversially, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultant(DSCC) says the smartphone’s display isn’t any reason for the foldable to be delayed but the need to use a newer chipset and future software innovations. This seems understandable seeing that we are expecting new Tensor hardware on the Pixel 7 series alleged to debut next year too.
Prosser also said what Young said about the Google Pixel Fold arriving next spring. Perhaps, we wouldn’t miss the foldable smartphone in the next year’s Google I/O as Google conferences begin with hardware announcements like what was seen this year.
Supposed details of the Google Pixel Fold
9to5google related that the outer display is a 5.78-inch panel with an inner display of 7.57 inches and ultra-thin glass. However, the delay of the Pixel Notepad might be a blessing in disguise as it might house the second generation of Tensor processors and better software tweaks as said earlier.
