Xiaomi might be working on MIUI 13, that’s expected to arrive towards the end of the year, but they’re still not done with MIUI 12.5 yet. The company, a couple of days ago, announced an enhanced version of the current build. They look to improve their premium phones performance with the features it’s present. As usual, the rollout started in China and will reach global handsets next month. However, the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition will be exclusive to premium Xiaomi phones.
The official list released by Xiaomi to receive the update Globally has nine premium Xiaomi phones on it. And while more phones received the update in China, Xiaomi is yet to start the second wave of the rollout. That’s unlikely as it has already upgraded all its current premium phones, and hence, it will turn the focus to MIUI 13. Besides, looking at the features of the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, one could easily say it’s for premium Xiaomi phones.
The build brings about three features – liquid storage, atomic Memory, and focus calculation. There’s also what Xiaomi calls intelligent balance, which seems to focus on battery performance. You can learn about the features of the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 here. Apparently, the update improves read and write speed, thereby increasing the life of the device.
And should Xiaomi stick with upgrading only its premium phones, although many phones will be left out, it will improve the speed of the deployment. Also, the company can deliver the MIUI 13 on schedule. Nevertheless, it might still be early to say the phones that’ll receive the update. But the fact that Xiaomi hasn’t started the second wave of the rollout might mean eligible phones have all received the update. And if that’s the case, then that means only premium Xiaomi phones will get the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, and that’s not even bad.
