The MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8 was released a couple of weeks ago. It first arrived for the global ROM users and is currently seeding for those in Europe and Russia. For now, only a few selected users can download the update, but it won’t be long till the public rollout gets underway. However, there’s always that link below our posts where you can download the update manually.
Those in Europe are receiving the MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8 with a version number MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCNEUXM. It weighs in at 649MB and comes with the MIUI 12 features, system optimization, and bug fixes. The update also pushed the security patch level to December 2020 and improved system security. You’d notice other changes, and for the new control center, you should learn how to activate it here.
The Russian users are also receiving the same update, but it comes with a different build number. If you’re in that region, you will receive a package of the same size, but with a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCNRUXM. The changelog is the same, and you can check it out below.
Of course, the rollout will extend to other regions. However, it might take some days, but we’ll be on the lookout to report here when the update starts seeding. Nevertheless, those running the EU and Russian ROM should follow the link below to download.
