Here’s the crux of the matter: there will be new Android emojis to be introduced sometime in December. There have been some activities with the Android OS recently, speaking of the Android 13 QPR1 beta and some other tweaks to various software. Well, what’s with the new Android emojis, let’s dive into the details.
Which new Android emojis?
As confirmed on the Google developers blog by Google’s Creative director of Emoji and Emoji Kitchen chef, Jennifer Daniel, the new Android emojis the brand has been working on comprise Unicode 15 emojis and animated emojis as well. Some of the Unicode 15 emojis are shaking face, ginger, donkey, leftward and rightward hand, Wing, donkey, moose and many others.
The design for the 21 new Android emojis was shared by the brand, after which they relayed that the feature will be coming to the Android Open Source Project in the coming weeks. It will be officially made available in December and the Pixel devices might probably be the first in line for this update.
Adding to the Unicode 15 emojis, the brand is introducing a coloured version of the Noto Emoji, an emoji used online on both Chrome and Google products. Previously, it was just the black and white versions but now you can get a variety of colour versions. In addition, we also get animated emojis as mentioned earlier. Although not all emojis are supported, we get up to 200 animated emojis.
Some of them might be familiar to us, thanks to Google Messages. Well, Google Chrome also gets emoji support for colour change which you can get a demo of if you have the latest version of chrome. New Android emojis, tweaks to Nearby Share, Google Meet, and Gboard, Android 13 QPR1 Beta, wow, Google is hard at work these days to bring in premium features to the Android community.
