The new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 update improves GPS

We are in the season of the OneUI 5 based on the sweet Android 13. The software is bringing a slew of features to the high-end Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tech enthusiasts have high expectations. Meanwhile, the older Samsung Galaxy phones are not left in the lurch as the brand still rolls out firmware updates to some of them. A new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 update has been rolled out and it improves GPS.

It is quite interesting that the Korean tech giant rolled out the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 update to this old smartphone since the device is no longer getting any major OS upgrade, let alone a security patch. That said, most tech lovers still fancy the handset as it offers nice features for value. 

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 update bears firmware version N950FXXUGDVG5 and the software is available in quite a vast majority of European countries. Speaking of Romania, UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ireland, Hungary, and the Netherlands among others. 

What’s new with the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 update?

Although the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 update doesn’t include the latest security patch, it fixes connectivity issues with GPS. So if you’re facing some GPS connectivity issues on your Note 8, be rest assured that the update will address them. Note 8 is not the only old smartphone to receive an update recently, we’ve seen a similar firmware on the S7 and S8. 

If you are rocking the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in any of the aforementioned countries then the update should have gotten to your device. If it hasn’t, then you should be patient as you will get a notification when it’s available. Meanwhile, you can navigate to Settings, Software Updates, and then download and install.
