Android 13 is bringing in a lot of interesting tweaks like improved security and privacy control, smart home access, Material You palette, and audio and media enhancements among other amazing feats. However, adding to all these was the new unified Pixel Launcher search and sadly it has disappeared after the latest Android 13 upgrade.
One of the best features the Android 13 was offering was the new unified Pixel Launcher which enables you to search for anything on your smartphone even inbound apps on Google Play Store. The new unified Pixel Launcher makes up the search tab at the top and the bottom of your screen.
The disappearance of the new unified Pixel Launcher was noticed after the update of Google Android 13 beta 4.1 to the first released stable version of the software. It was noticed on both users that installed OTA on their smartphones and those that sideloaded as well. Furthermore, sources related that it was noticed on a few Pixel 4a and Pixel 6 series units.
What is left after the new unified Pixel Launcher disappears?
The new look is devoid of the sweet Material You stylings, somewhat like the first version of the Google search. In addition, the Google Lens icon, microphone, and the G logo are missing. Fortunately, the Big G has identified the disappearance of the new unified Pixel Launcher and has said it will be fixed via an upcoming release.
Still unsure when we will see the fix, it might be rolled out via a server-side update. Meanwhile, some beta 4.1 users complained that they couldn’t sideload the stable version and Google has fixed that. The OTA update can now be accessed on your various smartphones.
