Two years Xiaomi Mi 6 starts getting Android Pie

Itt was exactly two years when Xiaomi opened a Beta program for Android Pie for Mi 6 users. And after months of testing, it seems the program was successful as the device starts getting MIUI 10.4.1.0 stable update, based on Android Pie.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 was launched back in April 2017, running Android 7.2 Nougat. The device got upgraded to Android 8.1 Oreo with the release of MIUI 10 but remained in Android Oreo even after receiving the MIUI 10. Now, the Device is getting MIUI 10.4.1.0, which will see the OS move to Android Pie, still based on MIUI 10.

The update is currently being rolled out to all Mi 6 device still on Stable MIUI ROM and weighs about 1.6GB. Remember, it might take some time before getting to your device, which is why you have to be patient because is normal for literally all OTA updates. However, if you can flash a new ROM without bricking your device, then follow this link to download the MIUI 10.4.1.0 stable update and instructions on how to go about it.

We advise our readers to wait for prompt notification and download straight from the updater app because they won’t have to wait like Redmi 5 Plus users. The last update that came to the device was back in April and since then, it has been a system error for every update released. We plead with users of the device to be patient because there’s likely to be a new update in the coming weeks since it’s about hitting the 3 months mark.

However, for the MIUI 10.4.1.0 stable update hitting the Mi 6, there are no major changes apart from upgrading the Android version. But as usual, there’s some changes in the update and the system has also been optimized.
