Xiaomi yesterday, announced it’s next-generation MIUI 12 Android Skin, which is based on Android OS. We were able to have a real look at all the features such as new privacy management, Dark mode 2.0, new Gesture, Animation, and lots of them you can find here.
The company also released the official list of its phones that will participate in MIUI 12 Closed beta testing, but didn’t to include Redmi Note 8. However, that might turn out to be a good thing as we will be revealing why Redmi Note 8 isn’t participating in MIUI 12 closed beta testing.
According to a super moderator in the Mi community forum, why Redmi Note 8 isn’t participating in MIUI 12 closed beta testing is because the device, along with Mi CC9E, will soon adopt Android 10. And while that might be for the Chinese variant, it also gives hope to the Global users. The device will receive the MIUI 12 stable update, and according to the schedule, it will start arriving late July or early August.
We recommend you wait for the update to arrive through the updater app and don’t try to flash using TWRP. The reason is that at this stage, Xiaomi hasn’t started integrating a new operating system into the MIUI 12. As such, you might have to wait longer before you finally get Android 10 on your Redmi Note 8 if your flash MIUI 12 using TWRP.
Expect the Android 10 update to start arriving on Redmi Note 8 from next month considering the time frame that was given for the stable MIUI 12 rollout. Nevertheless, we will keep you in the loop and make sure you hear it from us once a stable Android 10 update starts arriving on Redmi Note 8. Check out the amazing features of Xiaomi MIUI 12, how to register for the Beta testing, and the official list of the device to receive the update and time frame.
