Google plans to reach Android 14 platform stability in July, with the stable release expected to start seeding in August. The tech company recently rolled out the Android 14 beta 1 update, giving hints on the changes it will make on the upcoming Android OS. We expect OEMs on the Android platform to join the beta preview, and as expected, Xiaomi Android 14 beta update is now being tested internally.
The latest Android 14 beta update shows that Google will make changes to the System UI. Also, it will introduce more graphics and improve per-app language capabilities and privacy. To adopt these changes on MIUI, Xiaomi is expected to carry out a series of internal tests, currently underway but limited to a few devices.
According to Xiaomiui, Xiaomi Android 14 beta testing started internally on April 25, 2023, with Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi Pad 6, and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro as the only devices participating in the test. Of course, only the company’s developers can access the build, but we expect a beta recruitment exercise for the public in the coming months. Before then, more devices are expected to join the internal beta preview, and hopefully, global users will have the chance to participate.
For now, it’s unclear when Xiaomi will release the stable version of Android 14. However, the August release time frame by Google will likely see the update starts rolling out in Q4 2023. The update will likely arrive with MIUI 15, considering that Xiaomi now releases its new iteration of MIUI with the latest Android OS.
Unfortunately, nothing is certain for now, but we hope to get more information in the coming months. You can follow us on Telegram for news about the upcoming Android 14 update.
