Xiaomi officially announces it’s latest gaming smartphones. The event which took place in Beijing, China, saw the Xiaomi Black shark 3 debuts with Black Shark 3 Pro. Both phones run the latest Qualcomm premium processor and support a high touch sampling rate. They’re also 5G enabled – SA/NSA and Wi-Fi 6.
Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro
For the first time, a Xiaomi phone debuted with a 7.1-inch display. The super AMOLED 3120 x 1440p resolution display, supports 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate.
Under the hood, it runs Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with up to 12GB LDDPR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. The device is 5G enabled and supports both SA/NSA and it’s also Wi-Fi 6 certified. Coupled with the fast RAM is Game Engine, Game Turbo, for maximum gaming performance. You also get a cooling clip for the efficient dissipation of heat.
The Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro comes with a 5000mAh battery that supports both wired and wireless charging. The 65W fast wired charging gives you 50% charge in 12 minutes and a fully charged battery in 38 minutes, that’s a record time.
For pricing and availability, the device starts at $673 for the 8GB 256GB version, while the 12GB variant sets you back an additional $43. It will be available in colors of Phantom Black and Armor Gray. You will be able to pre-order from March 10 with official sale schedule for March 17.
Xiaomi Black Shark 3
The vanilla version tries to keep some features of the Pro variant. It retains the symmetrical triangle rear camera arrangements with a primary 64MP snapper. It’s flanked by a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP sensor, while on the front panel is a 20MP snapper.
The Black Shark 3 runs a Snapdragon 865 processor with 8GB LDDPR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. It’s both SA/NSA 5G path certified, and Wi-Fi 6 enabled. Interestingly, the 3.5mm headphone jack has made a comeback.
Meanwhile, it features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display of 1080p resolution instead. But it supports 90Hz and 270Hz touch sampling rate. The battery capacity is 280mAh less to what features in the Pro variant but keeps the 65W fast charging.
Xiaomi Black shark 3 starts from $501 and will be available in colors of Lightning Black, Armor Gray, and Star Silver . For now, the device will officially sell in China tonight from 9 O’clock while sales will begin in March 6.
