[Updated] Xiaomi starts rolling out March 2024 security patch update

While some phones are yet to receive the February 2024 security patch update, Xiaomi has started rolling out the Android security patch for March. As usual, the update is rolling out for select devices, with other eligible phones expected to get the update in the coming days. 

Xiaomi is now competing with the likes of Samsung and Google when it comes to rolling out the latest patch update. Pixel phone users will not be getting a new update until Monday, which will bring the Match Feature Drop, while Galaxy phones might start getting the update soon, but Xiaomi users can install the March 2024 security patch update now.

However, only the Redmi Note 13 NFC is getting the update, which comes with a version number MIUI 14.0.6.0 TNHEUXM. The build is still based on Android 13, meaning the device is still waiting for an Android 14 upgrade with HyperOS. It’s probably the last update before the device starts receiving the much-anticipated HyperOS upgrade.

The March 2024 security patch update has resolved security vulnerabilities and improved performance. Google has not released the March security patch bulletin, hence, we can not say what has been addressed in the latest patch update. Nevertheless, we recommend installing the update as it improves your device security.

Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 is getting March security patch update in China. The latest release has a version number OS1.0.7.0.UNXCNXM and you can download from here: Recovery | OTA Apply from OS1.0.5.0.

Another device getting the March 2024 security patch update is the Redmi Note 12 4G NFC in Indonesia. The update is rolling out with a version number OS1.0.2.0.UMGIDXM and you can download here: Recovery | OTA Apply from OS1.0.1.0.

The March 2024 security patch update is currently rolling out to more users across the globe. Redmi 12 users are getting a new security patch update with OS1.0.5.0.UMXEUXM while those in Turkey are getting a stable OS1.0.2.0.UMZTRXM. The update is also rolling out for the Redmi 12C / POCO C55 with a build number OS1.0.3.0.UCVIXM, and you can download the Recovery ROM by clicking on their version numbers.
