Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro get Android 13 with a stable MIUI 14 update

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Android 13 updates would have been a surprise, but the company already adjusted its update policy last year. With the Mi series now eligible for three Android OS upgrades, the latest update seeding for the Mi 10 series was expected. However, the rollout is exclusive to Chinese models, and we are yet to see if the global units will get the same treatment. 

We have seen Chinese models of Xiaomi phones receive a new Android OS upgrade while the global models are left out. It has happened many times in the past few years, but we hope to see the global Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro receive the much-anticipated upgrade in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Chinese models are getting a stable MIUI 14.0.2.0 TJBCNXM for the vanilla version, while the Pro models are receiving the update with a version number MIUI 14.0.2.0 TJACNXM. It comes in a 4.1GB package, and as expected, it brings all the features of MIUI 14 along with that of Android 13. 

With MIUI 14, Xiaomi has reduced memory usage while improving the performance of apps and making them more responsive. System Architecture has been improved to boost system and third-party apps performance. 

Of course, a stable MIUI based on Android 13 is part of the package, and a new Android security patch level (March 2023) to increase system security. Privacy protection is also mentioned, with more than 30 scenes now supporting end-to-end encryption and more. 

Meanwhile, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Android 13 update is exclusive to Mi Pilot members. The public rollout will commence in the coming days, and hopefully, the global release as well. You can follow us on Telegram to know when the update becomes available in your region.
