Xiaomi already pushed Android 10 to lots of its smartphones in the last few months. The update already arrived for Mi 8 series, Mi 9, Mi 9 Lite, while the Mi 9 Pro is still waiting for Android 10. However, everything changes now as the Mi 9 Pro Android 10 starts arriving for Chinese Beta users.
The update is hitting the units with a build number MIUI 11.0.1.0 QFCCNXM. It weighs 2.6G and comes along with an updated Google security patch for 2020 and a lock for apps.
Xiaomi MI 9 Pro Android 10 Full Changelog
System
- Updated Google security patch (2020-03) to improve system security
- MIUI stable release based on Android 10 deep customization
Application lock
- Added support for a one-click lock for all application
- New app lock new version homepage and related function optimization
A reminder that the update is an Android cross-version upgrade, as such, back up your personal data before upgrading. Also, some third-party applications might have compatibility issues after the upgrade, but a hard reset will sort that out.
Meanwhile, the update is, of course, a staged rollout and will take some time before getting to all units. However, it’s only arriving for Chinese Beta users currently and the Global users may start getting notification on their phones in the coming days.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro arrived in September last year with Snapdragon 855+ Octa-Core processor. It has a 6.39-inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a notch for the selfie snapper. At the back is a triple primary 48MP snapper paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The battery capacity is 4000mAh and supports 45W wired fast charging and 30W wireless charging. Outside the box is Android Pie based on MIUI 11, but that just changed with the arrival of Mi 9 Pro Android 10 update.
