Xiaomi Mi A3 June 2022 security patch released as device nears EOS

Xiaomi Mi A3 is the only device in the A-series lineup with active security support. The device has been receiving monthly security patch updates for the past few months after it elapsed Android OS support with an upgrade to Android 11. However, the security patch will soon stop seeding as the device nears EOS (end-of-support).

Xiaomi Mi A3 June 2022 security patch

Xiaomi is compelled by the Android One policy to deliver two Android OS upgrades and three years of security patch support to the Mi A3. The device has already received two OS upgrades, and there are only few months left on its security support, given it was released in July 2019. With the Xiaomi Mi A3 June 2022 security patch now available, the device has one month of support left.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 June 2022 security patch is exclusive to global users, while the European release will start in the coming days. Global users can identify the update with version number V12.0.24.0 RFQMIXM. It comes in a 13.02MB package, meaning it’s only a security patch without any new features. The changelog did say bug fixes and system performance, and of course, improved security and stability.

According to the June 2022 security bulletin, the current patch resolved over 41 security and privacy vulnerabilities. These are part of the Xiaomi Mi A3 June 2022 security patch update – a reason to install the latest build. Also, there’s no bug reported so far, and we believe the update is safe.

Global ROM users can check for the new update via system update. We recommend installing the update, especially as the device nears EOS. The July security patch will probably be the last, and Xiaomi will include the Mi A3 on the EOS list.
