With the Mi CC9 Meitu Edition getting its first stable MIUI 12.5 update a couple of hours ago, we knew it was only time before the update got to other devices in the series. As expected, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite stable MIUI 12.5 stable update has been released. However, it’s a Chinese rollout and would remain in that region for some time. Recall that both Mi CC9 and Mi 9 Lite are essentially the same phones. The former is for the Chinese market, while the latter was for the global market. Therefore, this current update will arrive globally on Mi 9 Lite, but you can flash the ROM if you have compatible TWRP recovery installed.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite stable MIUI 12.5 update is coming with all the features of the new Android skin. However, it misses out on the improved haptic feedback system. It seems the feature is for premium Xiaomi phones, and besides, it wasn’t among the ones presented during the official unveiling. And with “custom device model adjustment,” your device will become faster, smoother, and lighter after the upgrade.

The update also brings a new Android security patch level. It now dates March 2021 to increase system security and stability. There’s what Xiaomi calls “Flashcard.” It shows key information when apps are displayed as floating windows. You can check out all the changes via this link.

Meanwhile, the update is hitting select users in China with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RFCCNXM. The public will receive the update after some days, and that depends on if the beta preview is a success. However, we are optimistic, and you can download and install the ROM manually.
