The Xiaomi Mi CC9e and Redmi Note 8T going by our previous report, will now receive the Android 11 update. It’s believed that Xiaomi has started testing Android 11 internally for the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro, and as such, making the Mi CC9E and Note 8T partakers.
Xiaomi first launched the Mi CC9E in July last year, running Snapdragon 665 Octa-Core processor. It’s the same processor that runs inside the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8T. The three phones have the same development, and since one of them is now testing Android 11, it makes sense that all three will receive the update, eventually.
Meanwhile, according to track records on how Xiaomi rolls out OS updates and going by the company’s supposed update policy, phones released under the Mi series are eligible for two OS updates. Hence, the Xiaomi Mi CC9e will receive the Android 11 update.
It wasn’t the same for the Redmi Note series. Before now, all the phones released under the Redmi Note series are restricted to only one OS upgrade. However, it looks like Xiaomi is changing that, and even though we don’t know the reason, it’s a step in the right direction.
We don’t know when the Xiaomi Mi CC9e and Redmi Note 8T will start receiving the update, but we hope to have an idea when the company starts rolling out Android 11 to closed beta testers. That said, we will be keeping a close look at the development and will update this space once we have new information.
