Xiaomi is now in full swing with the third phase of the MIUI 12.5 rollout. It hasn’t been weeks since they announced it has completed the second phase and will get on with devices on the third phase. And just a few days after that, they’ve already rolled out the update to Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi 9 Pro 5G, Redmi K30 4G, and Xiaomi Mi 8. The company has also released the Mi Max 3 MIUI 12.5 update for units sold in China, and hopefully, they will extend it to more regions soon.
The Mix Max 3 is a mid-range phone that debuted in July of 2018. It runs Android 8.1 on top of MIUI 10 outside of the box and has since received two Android OS upgrades: Android 9 and 10. The latter arrived with MIUI 12 to end the journey in terms of the Android upgrade. However, as a device launched under the Mi Series, it still has support for an MIUI OS system update. And going by reports, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 MIUI 12.5 update has been released in China.
The update, as anticipated, isn’t different from the other builds. It is essentially an improvement to optimize the system and fix some bugs. Hence, the changes brought to the device are the same as what we have seen arrive for most Xiaomi phones since the rollout started. But luckily, you can continue using third-party launchers after the upgrade since the build is based on Android 10.
Meanwhile, the update has a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QEDCNXM. It’s currently on a limited rollout to give time for bug preview, but you can use the link below to download. You can keep an eye on our tracker page to know when the update becomes available in your region.
