Google rolled out the Android 12 beta 4 update to its Pixel phones a couple of weeks ago. The build has reached platform stability, meaning that all Android 12’s API and app-facing- behaviors are finalized. It means Google will not be making further alterations, which hint at an imminent arrival of the Stable Android 12 update. Now, OEMs like Xiaomi can adapt their apps to the new Android OS. They’re to focus on the compatibility and quality of each app. That’s probably why the first Android 12 beta has been released to Mi 11 closed beta testers. Xiaomi will look to get user’s feedback on the progress it has made so far ahead of the stable release.

POCO X3 Pro Android 12 update under internal testing

Of course, we expect other Xiaomi phones to start getting the Android 12 beta soon. Perhaps, those that have been testing the build internally. The likes of Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro / POCO F2 Pro, Redmi K30S / Mi 10T Pro, and others. They have now been joined by the likes of Mi Mix 4, Mi Pad 5 series phone, Redmi Note 8 (2021), and POCO X3 Pro. According to reports, the phones are now testing Android 12 internally, meaning an imminent release to closed beta testers.

However, the POCO X3 Pro Android 12 update might have to come much earlier. The device isn’t available in China, and that automatically disqualifies it for a closed beta test. Perhaps, Xiaomi will organize a beta program for the device when the build is deemed stable enough. For the Mi Mix 4, we expect closed beta groups to start pushing the update soon, same with Mi Pad 5 series phones and Redmi Note 8 (2021) models.

That said, you should keep an eye on our tracker page to know when the stable POCO X3 Pro Android 12 update becomes available for the public. For the Mi Mix 4, Mi Pad 5 series phones Redmi Note 8 (2021), the beta group members will probably get the update in the coming weeks. We also expect Xiaomi to expand the list moving ahead, which will make it easy to confirm Xiaomi phones getting the Android 12 update.
