Xiaomi is a company that prioritizes software and has kept improving its in-house MIUI Android skin. The latest iteration is MIUI 12.5, which is currently rolling for eligible devices in select regions. It promises to address the issues faced by Mi fans, which increased after MIUI 12 and Android 11 combined. There’s no doubt about the improvement made by the new update, but those still stuck on MIUI 12 keep reporting issues after each update release
The “battery charge stuck at 97%” was reported by Mi Note 10 Lite users. It supposedly started after the latest security patch update. According to a report on the Mi community forum, the affected device runs stock MIUI 12.1.3.0. The device, during charging, gets stuck at 97%, 98%, 99%, and won’t get to 100%. It’s a software issue as the cable and charger adapter of the affected device has been replaced, but nothing changed.
A quick stop at Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Telegram group shows is a known issue. Although some people claim to have never faced such an issue, but some even have their battery charge stuck at 92 – 93%. Luckily, there’s a way to charge to 100% temporarily until a permanent fix becomes handy. But according to one of the moderators, they haven’t received any report on the said issue. Hence, if you are experiencing the “battery charge stuck at 97%,” you should use the feedback app to report the issue.
Nevertheless, you can fix the issue if your device is affected by uninstalling security app updates. But first, you need to check the battery charging status to see if it matches the charging percentage icon. To do that go to Settings >> Battery and Performance. If it’s a match, then you should go ahead and uninstall new updates on the security app.
We understand that the above could only fix the issue temporarily. And hence, you can either live with the bug till a fix becomes available or keep following the aforementioned procedure.
