Xiaomi will start pushing the stable version of the MIUI 12.5 update in April. The update will arrive with new features, like New super live wallpapers, MIUI+, more natural system sound, revamped note app, and improvement for the current version. But while the update would arrive on stable ROM users in April, those in closed beta groups currently run the beta version. And according to a recent report, a new haptic feedback system might also arrive alongside the MIUI 12.5 update.
However, before now, Xiaomi has made the haptic feedback system feature exclusive for their flagship phones. It seems nothing has changed, though, as the feature is, for now, still limited to Mi 9 Pro 5G, Redmi K30S Ultra/Mi 10T/Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 11. But then, we hope to see more device support when the feature is ready for stable rollout.
As per Xiaomiui, the haptic feedback system will deliver realistic feedback to touch inputs and several gestures. The capabilities of the feature are highlighted with the screenshot posted on the forum. You can access them from the source link.
From the screenshot, the Natural haptic feedback will give users more realistic feedback on their touches, swipes, and gestures based on their settings. Xiaomi will achieve this with three different haptic feedback – Crisp, Base, Pop, and Realistic touch.
Crisp will deliver high-frequency feedback when you copy text, toggle the volume, or rearrange apps on the home screen. The Base feedback is exclusive for swipe gestures, while the elastic Pop feedback comes into action when you open context menus. Realistic Natural feedback becomes active when you interact with notifications, unlock the device using a fingerprint scanner, or access the power button.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi is limiting the new haptic feedback system to its device in China for now. It’s unclear when the global version will receive it, but we might see the feature alongside the MIUI 12.5. That said, we will be on the lookout for additional information in that regard.
