Xiaomi already confirmed when they announced the Redmi K30 last year that their next Android custom skin, MIUI 12 is under development, but never said anything as when the update will be available. However, we now have a time frame as to when we can expect the update.
The company before now has been releasing updates about the MIUI 12. They already confirmed it’s under development and will use it on their team as soon as possible. And now, through its official Weibo account has confirmed the MIUI 12 roadmap.
The first private beta is expected to arrive in September, and in October some users will get the Beta update as well. The official launch is scheduled for December, that’s when the update will be available for everyone.
Looking at the time frame, it’s in contrast with how Xiaomi rolls out MIUI updates. Beta testing of the update starts from May to June, and by September, the update will be made available for the general public. However, things are likely to be different this time, and even the COVID-19 outbreak isn’t helping matters.
There’s still a long time to wait before the arrival of MIUI 12. Meanwhile, some features of the UI have been revealed to be system-wide dark mode, New graphical user interface, multiple clone app support, and 16:9 ratio display for apps. It will also bring dark mode support to all System application.
The update is expected to bring Android 11 to some Xiaomi Phones. We already made a post on possible Xiaomi phones that will receive Android 11 with the new user interface. Also, you can check here for alleged Xiaomi phones that will receive the MIUI 12.
For now, we can only hope everything works fine and that COVID-19 will be contained, which will help to speed up the process.
