Xiaomi is currently rolling out the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update, which was unveiled on December 28 in China to eligible users. The Chinese OEM will complete the deployment in the coming weeks, at least in China, to focus on the next iteration of MIUI. It’s expected that there would be a point upgrade for MIUI 13 (MIUI 13.5), and it seems the new features we have seen recently will arrive with the supposed MIUI 13.5.
Recently, the Chinese company started testing the MIUI CarWith function, which has the same functionality as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. We have also seen them enable moving the sidebar to a different location and the introduction of the data usage function to the control center. Also, they have redesigned the fingerprint customization interface and updated how the file manager and other apps dialogs are displayed.
Of course, these supposed features of MIUI 13.5 are still in beta testing, exclusively for the Chinese closed beta testers. We expect Xiaomi to bring it to stable ROM users with MIUI 13.5. And while there hasn’t been any official news on the upgrade, a list of Xiaomi phones to receive MIUI 13.5 has surfaced online. Supposedly, these phones will receive the next iteration of MIUI, along with the features above.
